- What is FlyerSky?
- FlyerSky is a location-based community site similar to Craigslist, OfferUp, or Meetup.com. You can post for-sale items, housing, jobs, resumes, events, meetups, news, and more — all organized around your local community.
- Why use FlyerSky instead of other sites?
- We put your local community first. Listings are ordered by how close they are to you, so you support your neighbors before looking all over town. We're not a corporation and we're not asking for anything in return — no ads, no tracking, no data selling. People over profits.
- Is FlyerSky free to use?
- Yes. Creating an account, posting listings, creating groups, hosting events, and everything else on the site is completely free.
- Do I need an account to browse?
- You can browse public listings without an account. However, you'll need to sign up to post content, express interest in listings, join groups, or RSVP to events.
- How do for-sale listings, housing, jobs, and resumes work?
- Post a listing with a title, description, images, and price (if applicable). Other users can express interest, and based on each person's contact sharing preferences, email and/or phone number may be shared so you can connect directly. All communication and transactions happen between you and the other person — FlyerSky does not process payments or mediate deals.
- What does "express interest" do?
- When you express interest in a listing, the poster is notified and both parties may see each other's contact information (email and/or phone) depending on your individual sharing preferences. You can control what's shared in your account settings.
- What's the difference between events, meetups, and groups?
- Events are one-time or recurring happenings in your area. Meetups are more informal, community-organized gatherings. Groups are ongoing communities for people with shared interests. Groups can host their own events and meetups.
- What kind of news can I post?
- News posts are for sharing things happening in your local community — neighborhood updates, local business openings, community announcements, and anything relevant to the people around you.
- How is my personal information protected?
- We don't sell your data, we don't use third-party tracking or advertising cookies, and all analytics are done in-house. Your contact information is only shared with other users when you choose to allow it in your account settings. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
- Can I control who sees my email or phone number?
- Yes. In your account settings you can choose whether to share your email, phone number, both, or neither when interacting with other users. This is entirely in your control.
- Can I delete my account and data?
- Yes. You can delete your account at any time and your personal information will be removed within 30 days. Content you posted publicly will also be removed.
- Who owns the content I post?
- You do. You retain full ownership of everything you post. We only use your content to display it on the site and operate the service. We will never sell your content to third parties.
- Any tips for meeting up with people from the site?
- Use common sense when meeting people in person. Meet in a public place, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts. For purchases, inspect items before paying and avoid wiring money or using unconventional payment methods. FlyerSky is not involved in any transactions between users.
